You need to be able to: recognise number patterns and predict the next few terms in themYou need to know: not a lot beyond basic arithmetic
Examples:
the sequence 3, 7, 11, 15, 19, ... is an example of a sequence. It has first term 3 and a rule that appears to be "to work out the next term add 4 to the last term." Note the use commas to separate terms and the use of an ellipsis (...) to indicate that the sequence continues forever.
